State-of-the-art AI-based processing uses detailed data of human shapes and postures to dramatically improve object recognition accuracy and take full advantage of resolution. Theme recognition has also been expanded to include several new types, including vehicles and insects.

Human pose estimation

The α7R's V AF system offers dramatically increased overall performance thanks to significant improvements in subject detection performance. Accurate AF in low light EV -4.0
The latest AF algorithms in AF-S mode enable high AF accuracy down to EV -4.0 brightness. The α7R V also includes a Focus Priority mode that provides more reliable AF in low light conditions or at smaller apertures.

Continuous recording of 583 compressed RAW images at 10 fps
Continuous shooting at up to 10 fps with full AF/AE tracking is possible with mechanical or electronic shutter. The camera can shoot up to 583 compressed RAW images at this speed.

Flicker suppression
Flicker from artificial lighting can be effectively suppressed with "flicker-free recording" for still images, or with the "variable shutter" the shutter speed can be fine-tuned according to the frequency of the flicker either when taking still images or videos.
