The Fujifilm X-S20 is a compact, lightweight mirrorless digital camera built around a 26.1-megapixel back-illuminated X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and the X-Processor 5 image processor. Weighing 491 grams, it is easy to carry, and it comes with the FUJINON XC 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ zoom lens. The NP-W235 battery is rated for around 800 shots per charge, according to the manufacturer.

The camera has a five-axis in-body image stabilisation system (IBIS), which the manufacturer says provides up to 7.0 stops of benefit. Its AI-based subject detection autofocus recognises and tracks subjects such as animals, birds, cars and aircraft. Nineteen film simulation modes are available for creating different looks.

The lens is described by Fujifilm as the smallest and lightest interchangeable zoom lens in the X Series. For video, the camera records 6.2K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit, 4K/60P and 1080/240P, and supports F-Log2 for professional workflows.
