"My book entitled The Reward of Honesty was published for Christmas 2010, in which I formulated a very strict criticism of the Hungarian justice system, albeit tangentially. After the book, I received a lot of threats that this would mean that I would be sued, that I would get more years, that I would rot in the Gulag. No one reported or sued. Everyone involved knew that I had written the truth, and no one was more looking forward to the initiation of a possible court case than myself, where society could then be confronted with a million things that did not fit into that book, or were not written at the time ."The Reader is holding the work of Robert Yugovich, in which "everything fit"! The author was put into the witness protection program as a member of an international criminal organization. They were lured into an honest, revealing confession with the promise of a fair assessment. Despite this, he was sentenced to fourteen years in the first instance. The sentence was reduced to six years at the second instance, and then the Supreme Court increased it to nine years. Yugovich began writing his memoirs during his prison years, and continued the work after his release in the summer of 2016. The "Scrap Factory" in its conception, bold and outspoken style and conclusions, it goes far beyond the usual prison diaries; unless half of what Yugovich put down on paper is true - namely, an authentic account in every moment of the work - the "Scrap Factory" it will completely turn the image of the Hungarian justice system and penal system upside down. Yugovich writes as honestly and fearlessly as possible about the prison conditions he experienced, about upstart lawyers serving the interests of the ruling power, often pulled by wires, judges, and wannabee detectives trampling over each other, while countless, "on higher political orders" he also reports on cases where he was kept silent or deliberately miscommunicated, and he does not remain silent even when he expresses his opinion about Hungary, which is speeding towards nowhere at the speed of an express train in the exact opposite direction to Europe.
