Walter Tevis - A Földre esett férfi

THOMAS JEROME NEWTON IS THE LONEliest BEING ON EARTH.
THOMAS JEROME NEWTON IS NOT HUMAN.

The man came from the distant world of Anthea with an important mission: he must use the earth's resources to evacuate the survivors of his species from his dying planet. Making money from the advanced technology of the Antheans, which had dwindled in wars and natural disasters, and keeping his identity a secret, Newton sets about building a spaceship. But as he works to fulfill his mission, he realizes that there are more similarities between the two worlds than he first thought, and that not only the survival of his own people, but also the fate of humanity depends on his success. However, the question is whether a single man - even if he is the heir of a more developed world - can cope with such a huge burden, far from his loved ones, on a foreign planet.

The Man Who Fell to Earth is the story of the tragedy of two worlds. Walter Tevis tells the story of a lonely protagonist, as in the highly successful The Mastermind, and in the process we also realize what kind of future awaits our world if we do not act. The classic sci-fi novel is perhaps more relevant today than when it was written. After David Bowie's cult movie, Showtime has now produced a TV series based on the story, starring Oscar-nominated Chiwetel Ejiofor.
