    The TP-LINK TL-SG105 is a compact desktop Gigabit switch with five 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports, suited to home offices and small business networks. It can upgrade an existing network to Gigabit speeds, allowing large files such as graphics, CAD or multimedia to move quickly between devices. Each port auto-negotiates the connection speed and supports Auto MDI/MDIX, so crossover cables are not needed.

    The switch works plug and play, with no configuration required. Green Ethernet technology lowers power consumption by reducing power on idle ports and adjusting it to cable length and link status, which the manufacturer states can save up to 84 percent of energy.

    QoS with 802.1p and DSCP, along with IGMP Snooping for multicast traffic, helps keep video and voice streams smooth. IEEE 802.3x flow control supports reliable data transfer. The steel casing can be placed on a desk or mounted on a wall.
