Tóth Gábor Ákos - Forrásvidék - Olajláz az őrségben

Product description
The setting of the novel is a tiny Hungarian village, Kúthely - somewhere in Őrség, whose residents have for various reasons been left out of the enrichment process, which in the area is mostly based on equestrian tourism and spas. The story, however, begins several decades earlier and thousands of kilometers away. In the 1960s, many Hungarian oil engineers worked in Cuba, and one of them married there. He had a son, the half-Cuban, half-Hungarian Leonardo, who also followed him in his profession. When the father dies, the son finds a study in the estate about the possibility of serious oil deposits in the Guard.
When he buys up a neglected, salty area, everyone in the village looks at him as a fool. When drilling, even more so. However, they also have a little faith in the new possibility, so they don't really know how to relate to the stranger.
A modern-day "rainmaker" story that, among other things, holds a crooked mirror in front of us, Hungarians as well. Cultures, people and desires grind together through many pitfalls and blind alleys, so that in the end a real community is forged from the characters.
Ákos Gábor Tóth begins a new story after the Balaton trilogy; the location and the characters are new, the twisting story-telling that finally offers solutions to the conflicts is the old one..
