Product description
Ede Wigand (Pest, May 19, 1869 – Budapest, January 22, 1945) was a Hungarian folk style architect, writer and industrial artist. He took the name Torockó, later Toroczkai-Thoroczkai, after his stay in Transylvania. He devoted a significant thesis to the description of the stars known by Hungarian mythology and ancestral religion, which was published under the title "Old Stars". His book, or rather his album, A hímes udvar, strives to present the Hungarian architectural and decorative taste. It depicts indoor, outdoor and construction forms with a real richness of form. "The living spirit of the Nrög is the soul of the people." - writes Ede Toroczkai-Wigand.
