Anyone who seeks esoteric development must be aware above all that certain extremely simple formulas contain a power that exerts its effect when these formulas or sentences are called to life in the soul. You cannot grasp their real meaning if you only want to understand these sentences with the help of your intellect. So they will mean little to him. For a certain time he must fill his entire inner being with such a sentence, devoting himself to it with all the strength of his soul. One such sentence is "I exist". The secret of modern human existence actually lies in this sentence. Only a being with an external form similar to today's earthly man can think, feel and recall this word with will. The shape of such a creature had to be created in such a way that the goal of all the forces operating in the body had to be the shape of the vaulted face. This vaulted face and "I exist" belong together. There was a stage in the early evolution of the human figure when it had not yet reached this face. At that time, "Existence" could not be thought, wanted, or felt within. However, it would be wrong to think that the shape of the body, as described above, would have been able to evoke "Existence" by itself. This "Existence" was already present, it just could not yet express itself in an appropriate way. Just as man now expresses himself in the physical form, so he formerly did so in the spirit world. This is the power of "I exist" which, long ago, united with the human body that does not have today's facial shape, helped the forehead to its current shape. That is why, when a person sinks deep into the "Being", he can feel the force that has shaped him into his present form. This power is superior to those that can be felt in your everyday life. Because it is the creative power of the soul that forms the physical nature from the soul.
