This short article was published in 1845 and analyzes the origin and history of pálinka, as well as its positive and negative effects, although the author, whose identity is not revealed in his writing, criticizes the (immoderate) habit of drinking pálinka in our country. The author himself puts the following sentences on paper: "I say that you can't start anything or get work done here without brandy, because brandy is kept in every place and everywhere, so brandy is usually kept at the houses of priests, officers or other dignitaries... and they first have a glass brandy is lit, etc." So, on this basis, the specialty of our nation is the consumption of brandy.
