The personal history of the ten people - at least I think so - is interesting in itself. However, it cannot be separated from a broader dimension: the country's fifty years. There are plenty of references to the most important turns of this in the text, but only as a kind of scenery. In the foreground is always the development of one or another tennis partner's life, and behind it is the current 'backstage'. There is no denying the very decisive role of the background in any given moment or situation."
