In an alternative world - very, very similar to ours - the height of people is directly proportional to the size of their wealth. The poorest are as small as a rat, while the billionaires are as tall as skyscrapers. Warner and his sister, Prayer, live in destitution, so they are quite small. This size is not only humiliating, but also hides a lot of dangers: day and night, the brothers have to face terrible and threatening dangers that the rich can't even imagine, from the fact that a stray cat can tear them apart at any time, to the fact that : someone tramples their home. They don't make tiny cars or phones for them. Moreover, they don't even build schools and hospitals for them, because the qualified doctors and teachers wouldn't even fit in the small buildings. Warner and Prayer know their only hope is to somehow enlarge themselves. But how can two poor people survive in a world where everything has conspired against them?
