The purpose of publishing the exploratory slips made by János Illésy around 1900 was to collect data from sources documenting the nobility, privilege, and elevation of each family. Researching noble censuses without the slip index is practically impossible, so without Illésy's slips, research would only be possible by looking through the documents individually. The slips usually contain the following data: first name, the name of the donor's wife, the names of their descendants and their spouses, the names of the donor's siblings and their spouses and descendants, relatives with different surnames, or the names of co-donors and their spouses and descendants, etc. The volume is a reprint version of the original edition.
