"From the perspective of more than two millennia, what I write can sometimes be laughable and humorous. This is not my intention, but it is not against me either, since humor, the name of which was (also) stolen by the Latins, means nothing more than the life-giving juice of the gods in people. I could list my titles, names (even so there are too many of them) – but that would hardly interest anyone. I didn't even care at my age, even though I was really big and holy then. Of course, we never took this seriously. We, Etruscans. Rasennas, Tyrrhenians (the Tyrrhenians were not us, but they became us - long and complicated), Etruscans. No one knows who we were. Everyone has heard of us, but no one knows us. That's why I'm writing these lines, even though it's obviously not known who took them down. It's not important."
