Product description
The masses have always played a significant role in the lives of peoples, but never to such a large extent as today. One of the main characteristics of today's age is that the unconscious activity of the masses takes the place of the conscious activity of individuals. I have attempted to approach the difficult problem of the masses exclusively with strictly scientific means, that is, methodically, setting aside all other opinions, doctrines and theories. I believe that this is the only way to reach some particle of truth, when it is a question that occupies minds so vividly, as in this case. The scientist who seeks to establish a phenomenon does not care about the interests that interfere with the establishment. An excellent thinker, Goblet d'Alviela, noted in one of his works that I, not belonging to any of the current schools, am sometimes at odds with the certain conclusions of all these schools. This new work, I hope, deserves the same notice. Belonging to a school necessarily entails adopting its prejudices and viewpoints.
