This book by Giovanni Catelli examines the death of Albert Camus, who was killed in a car accident on 4 January 1960. While the accident itself is an established fact, opinions about how and why it happened have long been divided. Fifty years after the events, Catelli reviews every surviving trace and investigates the claim that the Soviet secret service was responsible for the writer's death.

The author's inquiry begins with a note from a 1980 diary entry by a Czech writer, which states that the KGB eliminated Camus because of his support for the 1956 Hungarian revolution. According to this account, the secret service needed three years to carry out the task.

The result is a vividly written record of this unusual investigation. Published in 2021 by Európa Könyvkiadó, the 240-page paperback has a flexible, card-bound binding with flaps.
