Few of us read texts by literary scholars or literary critics. Because sometimes they show off, sometimes they are narrow-minded, sometimes they are dry, too scientific; it annoys us when we don't understand them, even more when we understand them. But reading Kabdebo is good. The fever and curiosity of the writer is just as strong in him as the calmness of the scientist. When he writes about writers, he's always talking about people: friends or enemies, and - and he admits this bitterly - about people he misunderstood, forgot, didn't notice.
