This crime novel by Dorothy Koomson follows two teenage girls whose innocent infatuation seals their fates forever. Both are accused of killing a teacher, but only one of them is sent to prison for the crime, while the other goes on living free.
Twenty years later, Poppy is released from prison. She still insists she was wrongly convicted and intends to track down Serena. The two women must face each other and a shared, dark past.
The story was adapted in 2013 as an English television series titled "The Ice Cream Girls". The paperback runs to 300 pages. Because of its disturbing subject matter, it is recommended for adult readers only.
