This 20 cm SATA extension cable from Delock is finished in blue and connects two SATA ports, letting you position drives and other devices with a 7-pin SATA connector more flexibly inside your computer case. It complies with the current standard and supports data transfer rates of up to 6 Gb/s.
The SATA 6 Gb/s interface is backward compatible with the earlier 1.5 Gb/s and 3 Gb/s versions, so the connection always runs at the speed of the slowest connected device. Both ends are designed as locking connectors, and the metal clip on the socket together with the free space on the plug keeps the cable firmly in place.
The cable is 26 AWG thick and measures roughly 20 cm excluding the connectors. Gold-plated metal clips contribute to a secure fit.
