Márton Böszörményi's novel begins its freak show-like presentation with the survivors, but who is actually watching whom is at least as much a question as whether someone who has already been infected by this elusive, yet leaking monstrosity that thickens almost harmlessly, can be freed sometimes emerges on the surface of events.
