London, snowy December 1888. After an exhaustive investigation into Jack the Ripper, Sherlock Holmes falls into a deep lethargy and reaches for cocaine again. Watson is unable to instill strength in his friend until a strange, coded letter arrives from Paris. Mademoiselle La Victoire, the beautiful French singer, asks the famous detective for help, as her illegitimate son - who lived with his father, an English lord - has disappeared, and she herself has been attacked in the open street. Holmes travels to Paris with his loyal assistant and discovers that the case of the lost child is connected to the theft of a priceless statue and the brutal murder of three boys. Clues lead to the influential and wealthy lord in Lancashire, where more mysterious deaths occur after the arrival of the iconic pair. In the novel written in the style of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes once again proves his genius and special, artistic sensibility...
