Product description
The Second Drama by Hundred Years of Dancer György Berkovits. The first five-act Abrea was released in 2002. She rewrote her two plays, Abrea, embedded in a more rigorous structure, entitled Centennial Dancer, and emphasizing much more prominently than the previous version the two motifs on which the play was based, according to which the hundred-year-old dancer buried her husband alive, which of course is nothing but a metaphor for Jewish destiny; and also more stressed that her daughter, also a dancer, in her eighties, divorced her husband on political orders, on higher orders, because if she didn’t, she would risk everything, including her life.
Eva of a Strange Woman is reminiscent of the protagonist of the drama The Losers of Life, the stations of her life, her journey, and her dating; to the intellectual Gyárfás, the captured photographer, Pál, the violent director, Géza.
He also rewrote Gabes and Bence Gy, making it more stage-like, The Mafiazo and the Hostage, and pointing out in a much more prominent way that the multiple murderous mafia, who lives the lives of billionaires undisturbed, is simply holding hostage the intellectuals who once advised him, and he makes a mocking statement that he was actually locked in a panopticon, because nowadays an intellectual is only in a panopticon.
György Berkovits was happy to say that his pieces stem from the style-creating power of the impossibility, but this impossibility belongs to reality, to life, if you like the incompetent style of life from which, in his opinion, the spirituality of his plays arises. However, instead of bitter teasing, he talks about it all with eclectic wit.
