The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9980X is a high-performance processor for the TR5 socket, with 64 cores and 128 threads. It runs at a base clock of 3.2 GHz and boosts up to 5.4 GHz. The chip features 64 MB of L2 cache and 256 MB of L3 cache, and supports up to eight DDR5-6400 memory modules as well as PCI Express 5.0.
With a power draw of 350 watts, this processor is aimed at demanding workstations where raw computing power matters for rendering, simulation or heavy data processing. It is supplied as an OEM version without a cooler, so a suitable CPU cooling solution needs to be chosen separately.
The processor has no integrated graphics, so a dedicated graphics card is required for display output. It is compatible with Windows 11.
