Product description
Once upon a time there lived a prince. Let it be called Glaucoma. He researches the language of the senses. It opens the gates of perception. It closes the forms of the lyric to the thing. A monologue is told by the speaker. He explores the ways of seeing. The walkable world of images. The perception of the body, which is full of mystery. Glaucoma stories are about bodies. Bodies are gateways to perception. Perception is the mystery of the dead world. The mystery of the body is all perception, says the prince, who was called Glaucoma. Szilárd Borbély In the book, we read the story of a life defined by the gaze and narrative of others, the consistent representation of the foreign experience that even though we may feel that we are left to ourselves in the creation of our life story, our loneliness is very it is created at the intersection of many aspects. Moreover, perhaps we feel alone precisely because we are exposed to the narration of an infinite number of different points of view, which do not necessarily know about each other. It is particularly interesting that a male author narrates a man's life story emphatically from a female point of view, so that the texts still lack the mannered humor of the gender-changing pieces of contemporary Hungarian literature. The empathetic imitation of markedly feminine voices does not alleviate the stark ruthlessness of Glaukóma's poetic world, the disturbingly precise analyzes of perception, on the contrary. János Áfra managed to create poetry that, although it is related to the sensitive, intellectual world of contemporary Hungarian lyric poetry, still speaks in a sovereign, serious language that cannot be confused with others.
