Product description
Rosa Alchemica is the most mystical work of William Butler Yeats. The high initiation he achieved in the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn also permeated his works for the Nobel Prize-winning poet. He was initiated into the mysteries of the Rosicrucian Order by Robert Wentworth Little, but was not yet a member of the Rosicrucian lodge. In 1887, he participated in the founding of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. At the head of the Order were Woodman, Mathers and Wynn Westcott, who helped the young poet and introduced him to the world of occult sciences. Yeats puts the fragments and visual experiences of Irish folktales into the European hermetic tradition. The Rosa Alchemica is written in short texts with clear symbols referring to the basic elements of the great initiation. In the tales that end with moral lessons, we find stories about the relationship between pagan times and Christianity, the balance of white and black magic.
