Its APO optical design is built to minimise chromatic aberration, while the F/1.8 maximum aperture produces attractive background blur (bokeh). The 35 mm focal length gives a natural, everyday perspective.
An STM autofocus system provides quick and quiet focusing for both photography and video. A linear focus motor supports precise manual focusing, and the built-in atmospheric seal helps protect the lens against dust and moisture.
