The lens' focal length of 56 mm (equivalent to approx. 85 mm on an APS-C sensor) is ideal for portrait photography, but also versatile enough for other subjects. The F1.2 aperture provides extremely narrow depth of field and beautiful bokeh, so your subject is always in the foreground. The internal focusing VCM motor enables fast, accurate and quiet focusing, making it a great choice for video recording as well.

The optical system consists of 13 lens elements arranged in 8 groups, including an extra low dispersion (ED) element, three high refractive index lenses and an ultra-precise aspherical element to minimize distortion and maximize detail. The multi-layer nano-coating provides outstanding contrast, while the water- and grease-repellent coating of the front lens makes everyday use even more comfortable.

The lens has constant length electronic aperture control, accepts standard 67mm filters, and is dust and moisture resistant. The firmware can be easily updated via the built-in USB-C connector, so the lens always remains up-to-date in terms of software.
