Vanessa Springora - Beleegyezés

In March 1990, Gabriel Matzneff, the popular French writer, spoke on a literary TV show about his new book, in which he revealed his sexual adventures with young girls to the readers. According to Matzneff, girls over the age of twenty are already disillusioned, and he prefers to share his bed with those who are "still nice and who have not yet been trained by life."
At that time, only a few people thought about it.
In January 2020, French editor-writer Vanessa Springora published her autobiographically inspired novel, in which she looks back over 30 years on the "love affair" that ended her childhood too early when she fell into the web of the well-known French writer. The title of the novel - Consent - also shows that there is no question of violence: the middle-aged man, who skillfully manipulates his victim from the beginning, sweeps her off her feet with the promise of "eternal love" and makes the 14-year-old girl his lover. It soon turns out that the writer is a real sexual predator who constantly changes his "eternal loves" who are always minors.
After the publication of this book, the culprit met his fate. Although he always talked quite openly about his adventures in his writings - for example in his essay Children under Sixteen (1974), Matzneff lost his respect (and his state scholarship) and was forced to leave the French capital. While several of his books were withdrawn from circulation by his publishers, the Paris prosecutor's office launched an investigation against him: Matzneff will stand trial in the fall of 2021.
Springora - only V. in the novel - speaks with chilling honesty about how the celebrated writer abused his fame, how the literature fan, who grew up without a father, who was just discovering her physical desire, took over the girl who couldn't wait to be loved.
