UNI-T UT691-01 visual fault locator

The Uni-T UT691-01 is a portable visual fault locator designed to trace faults in optical fibres, determine the total length of fibre runs and carry out maintenance work on optical equipment. It emits visible red light at a wavelength of 650 ± 10 nm and offers two laser operating modes, which make quick diagnostics in the field easier. Its compact body, non-slip design and IP54 protection rating make it well suited to everyday work on the construction and maintenance of fibre optic networks.

The UT691-01 provides a laser output power of at least 1 mW and can operate on fibre sections of 2 to 3 km. A universal 2.5 mm FC connector is fitted, which simplifies use during routine service tasks. Continuous and pulsed modes are available, so the operating mode can be adjusted to the specific task and measurement conditions.

The locator runs on a 3.7 V, 1050 mAh lithium polymer battery, which is rated for more than 12 hours of operation. Features include a battery level indicator, automatic shutdown after 15 minutes, an LED torch and resistance to drops from a height of one metre. Weighing 62 g and measuring 130 × 38 × 27 mm, it is compact and easy to carry.
