The Uni-T UT387LM is a wall scanner designed to locate hidden objects behind walls, making it useful for renovation projects and DIY tasks. It detects ferrous metals up to 100 mm deep, non-ferrous metals up to 80 mm, wood up to 38 mm, and live electrical cables up to 40 mm, helping you avoid damaging wiring when drilling or fixing fixtures.

The UT387LM also includes a laser distance measurement function with a range of up to 40 m, so one tool can cover several measuring tasks. A clear 2.4-inch display and audible prompts make it straightforward to use. Automatic shut-off saves battery power, and the built-in lithium-ion battery means no need to replace disposable cells.
