Optical data transmission for outdoor POE devices

Performance versatility
FiberPoE provides separate power from standard Ethernet cables or standard terminal block/power cable support. There are three ways to configure input and output power.

Separate data and energy transport
PoE is ideal for indoor or short-term installations. However, in outdoor, long-distance deployments, PoE becomes vulnerable to EMI and is limited by power loss correlated to 100 meters. With FiberPoE Gen 2, data and power are carried over separate cables, greatly improving data integrity and enabling longer cable runs.

FiberPoE Gen 2 provides gigabit bi-directional data transmission between twisted pair Ethernet cable and fiber optic cable and provides passive PoE power to the Ethernet cable. As a FiberPoE Gen 2 device with a Fiber-Ethernet converter or a FiberPoE Gen 2 device to create a Fiber Bridge.

Improved surge protection
The built-in high-current gas discharge tube (GDT) for the DC terminal block and PoE port provides FiberPoE Gen 2 enhanced surge protection. Added GDT support provides effective protection against lightning strikes and other power surges.

Fiber optic data transmission
The use of fiber optic cable significantly reduces electrostatic discharge (ESD) failure and electromagnetic interference (EMI) for data transmission. Data integrity runs longer than 100 meters, even at the limit of the Ethernet twisted pair cable.

FiberPoE Gen 2 supports a 1G SFP module and 24V or 50V power from a DC power cable or PoE cable.

Integrated fiber cable break damping
The built-in anti-break system is designed to fit inside the FiberPoE Gen 2 cover for protection and a cleaner installation.
