This slide film edition of Tündér Ilona, a classic Hungarian folk tale, follows the adventures of the youngest son. During his travels he takes a job as a coachman for the king, who notices a golden strand of hair belonging to Tündér Ilona. The film is an adaptation by Béla Vihar and is suitable for children aged 3 to 5 years.

The king orders that the fairy-tale beautiful girl be snatched from the witch, as he intends to marry her. With the help of his magical horse, which has supernatural powers, the boy successfully carries out the task. At the end of the story an unexpected twist follows: the girl chooses not the king but the brave coachman as her partner.
