Product description
10/100Mbps WDM media converter.
- Complies with IEEE 802.3u 10/100Base-TX, 100Base-FX standard
- LFP (Link Fault Passthrough) and FEF (Far End Fault) minimize loss with quick alarm
- Uses WDM technology, transmitting and receiving data on a single fiber
Its operation
The MC111CS is a media converter that converts 100BASE-FX optics to 100Base-TX copper-based transmission or vice versa. It uses WDM technology, the MC111CS transmits and receives data on a single fiber, which means cost savings. Based on IEEE 802.3u 10/100Base-TX and 100Base-FX standards, MC111CS is designed to use single-mode fiber optic cables with SC type connection. The MC111CS supports the Long Wave (LX) laser specification at full wire transmission speed. It transmits at 1550nm and receives data at 1310nm. Accordingly, the device operating on the other side, which works together with the MC111CS, must transmit data at 1310nm and receive data at 1550nm. Another TP-LINK media converter, the MC112CS, is an example that works with the MC111CS converter.
Another feature of the module is that it can be used as a stand-alone device, but it can also be installed in a 19-inch TP-LINK cabinet, duplex auto negotiation at the TX port, and front panel status LEDs. The MC111CS transmits on the enlarged optical network, which can be up to 20 km in the case of single-mode optics.
