The Toshiba MG09 is an 18 TB 3.5-inch hard drive built for data centres, servers and high-volume storage environments. Spinning at 7200 rpm with a 512 MB buffer, it delivers strong sustained transfer performance. It uses Conventional Magnetic Recording (CMR), which ensures broad compatibility with systems and controllers. Toshiba's Flux Control Microwave-assisted Magnetic Recording (FC-MAMR) technology and a helium-sealed nine-disk design deliver high storage density within the industry-standard 26.1 mm form factor.

The drive offers a SATA 6.0 Gbit/s interface, with SAS 12.0 Gbit/s models also available. Its low power consumption per terabyte helps reduce energy use and total cost of ownership. Rated for a workload of 550 TB transferred per year, it suits demanding continuous operation. The 512e and 4Kn Advanced Format sector options are supported, and the 512e model includes Persistent Write Cache technology to protect data during sudden power loss.
