Product description
There has never been as much freedom of speech in the world as we are experiencing today. Thanks to the internet and social networking. The opposite is also true: silencing, blocking from the Internet, i.e. restricting freedom of speech, has never had such an impact on a community. The way a text outgrows its own framework is also a new phenomenon, as the digital one appears next to the physical book, which goes beyond the concept of a traditional book. We can attach an infinite number of footnotes and references to our statements, just as nothing can limit the source of our knowledge today.
As a scientific project of the University of Oxford, the freespeechdebate.com website, which can be read in thirteen languages and is constantly expanding, was born at the same time as the book, where Ash settles the controversial issues raised. His starting point was as follows: the post-Gutenberg world cannot be described in Gutenberg terms.
We would need six million years if we wanted to watch all the videos uploaded to the Internet in one month. And then we didn't talk about the text content. Where can we draw the line of freedom of speech? Up for debate!
