The TerraMaster U4-500 is a 1U rack-mountable network attached storage (NAS) server with four drive bays, designed for small and medium-sized businesses that need secure file storage and centralised file management. It is powered by a five-core Intel Pentium Gold 8505 processor with a boost clock of up to 4.4 GHz, and comes with 8 GB of DDR5 memory that can be expanded to 64 GB. Two 10GbE network ports deliver fast data transfer across the office network, and support for several RAID levels helps protect stored data.

Two M.2 NVMe slots with PCIe 4.0 can be used as SSD cache to speed up access to frequently used files. The four bays provide up to 96 TB of total capacity, depending on the drives fitted. Four USB ports, an HDMI output and support for SMB, NFS, FTP, SFTP and WebDAV make it easy to integrate the server with Windows, macOS and Linux computers.

The included Business Backup Suite offers centralised backup, snapshots, cloud synchronisation and AES encryption. Access protection includes OTP authentication and automatic blocking of suspicious login attempts.
