Product description
Whoever wins the party may not have played well yet. You can only be sure that you avoided a decisive mistake that the opponent could have taken advantage of."
We can follow a two-person game, a love game, to the end in the pages of Ferenc Temesi's novel King's Sacrifice. The girl is only seventeen years old, the man is in his forties. Twenty-three years separate Villám Vera and Gábor Tamási when their life-and-death battle begins. Their grueling relationship - and because of it, so much more! - Temesi tells us, with the signs of system change in the background. And the love story is edited into a masterpiece by a real chess match consisting of twenty-three moves, fought in New Orleans in 1921 by an amateur player named Adams against grandmaster Torre Repetto.
There are three sides to every story. Mine, yours, and everything in between. This story is of the third kind, even if it is primarily about me. About me, who solved chess puzzles during my recovery and really wanted to go for a walk. For me, this means a maximum of five hundred meters.
I wandered out to Mechwart square, one of the famous points of the Bermuda triangle in Bel-Buda, which was somewhat grandiosely called the Mechwart grove. I watched the fountain, the children and the dogs playing. I was as sad as the sky, even though we hadn't parted yet, I went home on weekends to cook and play. And then across the square, at the concrete tables, I saw the chess players.
