As a shaman, we move in two different worlds. Instead of the term "world", we could also use the term "reality" or "plane of consciousness". As you know, each term is only an approach to reality. One world is called TONAL or EVERYDAY REALITY. The other for NAGUAL or NOT EVERYDAY REALITY. The world of Tonal includes everything we think, feel, see, smell, taste, hear, etc. Everything we know and can name belongs to Tonal. Everything else we don't know and can't name belongs to the Nagual. These descriptions, as already discussed, are only approximations. We live almost our entire lives in the Tonal world. Any experience that could bring the Nagual into contact with investigation, rational explanations, thinking, etc. we transfer it to the world of Tonal. However, the Nagual cannot be understood, or even explained, with Tonal's tools. Any attempt to explain the existence and functioning of the Nagual must fail. This form of encountering the Nagual leads nowhere - or as my teacher said, ``It's not that you understand. the things. The important thing is whether you are ready to accept them."
