Product description
"A book called Everyday Tradition was written 25 years ago, which has since gone through several editions. Based on the memories of Hungarian folk culture, the book dealt with the traditional way of life - nutrition, clothing, building houses, handicrafts, knowledge of nature - with its memories preserved in oral tradition, which have been largely forgotten in modern culture.
Since the publication of the book, a new generation has grown up and sees the world around them in a completely different way. This justified the continuation of the everyday tradition. The way the questions are asked has not changed: in this work, too, we research the foundations of human education according to the ways of satisfying the most important needs. However, in today's increasingly globalized world, the search for the roots of culture had to be extended to the remote parts of the earth, to the world of tribal cultures.
It is almost commonplace today how many animal and plant species disappeared from the map of the living world after the development of industrial civilization. On the other hand, there is less talk about how many villages have been depopulated in the past period, and how many tribal cultures have disappeared. The destruction of small communities makes earthly culture more colorless, and as a result humanity becomes increasingly poor.
According to an old Native American saying, when you've cut down the last tree, caught the last fish, and polluted the last clean river, you realize that money can't be eaten. We can also add to this: if you can no longer light a fire, prepare your own food, clothes, and shelter, and you no longer tell stories to your children, then you can think about what you are on earth for?"
