Szurovecz Kitti - A választás

We are writing 2001. The entire youth of Békéscsaba is preparing for the Csaba Garabonciás Days, i.e. the student mayor election, which is a huge event in the life of the city. Teams from local schools are fighting for their candidate to win by the end of the week. Roland wants to win for recognition, Dani for power, Tamara for acceptance. Their campaign managers, Enikő, Levente and Brigi, fight together and against each other for victory, knowing nothing is impossible with the crews. Adventure, love, intrigue, laughter and tears weave through the days of the election. Then the stakes of the competition change: one of them suddenly disappears...
I wonder what is more important? Victory or friendship? Success or love? Power or fairness? The trials of the Garabonciás Days mobilize amazing energies in the teenagers. At one point, the protagonists realize: the choice here is not only about victory - it is more about love. Through the story of the six determined high school students, we can find in ourselves the child who once made a decision only in search of his own inner truth, because he did not yet know what the word interest meant.
Kitti Szurovecz's novel The Choice - Tales of GarabonCity is fiction, but the author delved deeply into the history of the Békéscsaba student festival, which has now grown into a huge event, and recalled many touching, amusing and exciting memories on its pages. He was once a campaign manager himself, and during the writing of the volume, he happily traveled back to his adolescence, when young people were not yet dominated by gadgets, when they were still present with all their cells in the light of Garabontia torches - which then determined their later lives. They have been choosing with their hearts ever since.
