Szántó Péter - A főhős meghal a végén

Death in the Hollywood Forever cemetery offers Péter Szántó's unsuspecting narrator a bargain one day: he can stay alive while he tells the story. The increasingly mysterious game for time begins, sometimes with a drum rhythm, sometimes through meditative texts, in which not only long-dead movie stars come to life, but also in the stories of the most ordinary figures, the author's peculiar, cinematic vision prevails.
The short stories bring to the stage the human frailty and doomedness of the characters with grotesque and sarcastic bravura amidst the imposing cultural historical scenery woven by Péter Szántó. The protagonist of the book is not death, but what can make a person immortal despite all this.
Among his stories, the main hero dies at the end, perhaps the most shocking is his own volume, since the author could no longer afford the publication of the manuscript submitted and then edited under this title.
