    The Synology RackStation RS6426xs+ is an enterprise-grade network storage server in a 3U rack-mount chassis, with 16 drive bays. Using four RX1225RP expansion units, it can be scaled up to 64 bays. Performance comes from an Intel Xeon D-1739 processor with 8 cores at 3.0/3.5 GHz and 16 GB of DDR4 ECC RDIMM memory, expandable to a maximum of 96 GB.

    Connectivity includes two built-in 10GbE RJ45 ports, two PCIe Gen4 x8 expansion slots, four Mini-SAS HD ports and a dedicated out-of-band management port. Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectors complete the interface options. A redundant 550 W power supply and hot-swappable drives support continuous operation.

    The unit supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 and RAID F1 configurations, SSD caching, iSCSI and Fibre Channel protocols, and the VMware, Citrix and OpenStack virtualization platforms. The DSM operating system provides comprehensive data management, backup and administration functions.
