Only 30/38 cm deep, the RS1221+/RS1221RP+ is designed for space-saving installations. With 4K random read IOPS over 100K and 2315MB/s sequential read*1, the RS1221+/RS1221RP+ is ready to handle heavy workloads in high-traffic environments. The RS1221RP+ provides an additional level of protection with redundant power supplies.

Compact design for efficient use of space
The RS1221+ and RX418 expansion units are designed to help you save space in compact installations. With its size of only 30 centimeters, which is half the length of a typical 2U type unit, it fits perfectly into two-column or low-depth, rack-mountable housings. The size of the RS1221RP+ with two power supplies is 38 cm, so it also fits well into low-depth housings.

Redundant power supply
The potential for a power failure on a single distribution channel or PDU to cause a loss of data and service availability can be reduced.

Maximum availability of services
Paired with another unit of the same design, in the event of a server failure, Synology High Availability enables automatic failover between two servers arranged in a cluster within minutes, thus minimizing downtime.

Data integrity and protection
ECC memory and Btrfs file system help prevent data corruption and simplify data protection with higher reliability and snapshot functions.

High-performance storage for every task
