SUNSUN UV-C water purification lamp 9W CUV-209

The SUNSUN CUV-209 is a 9 W UV-C lamp for pond systems that helps limit the growth of algae, bacteria and other microorganisms responsible for cloudy and greenish water. The unit is rated for ponds up to 8,000 litres, or up to 3,000 litres for koi ponds. At the recommended flow rate of 1,500 l/h, flowing water is effectively treated with UV-C light without the need for chemical treatments. Stepped connectors for 3/4 inch (approx. 19 mm) and 1 1/2 inch (approx. 38 mm) fittings allow it to work with a range of pumps and filter systems.

UV-C radiation damages the cell structure of algae, causing them to clump together into larger particles that a mechanical filter can easily remove. Water clarity improves gradually, and the first visible results typically appear within about 14 days of regular operation.

Because the treatment requires no chemicals, the lamp can be used in tanks housing fish and planted with aquatic vegetation. The housing is made from durable ABS and ASA plastic that withstands outdoor pond conditions. A five-metre power cable and the option of wall mounting make it straightforward to integrate into an existing filter setup.
