SUNSUN Pond UV-C lamp 24W CUV-224

The SUNSUN CUV-224 is a UV-C lamp designed for ponds of up to 35,000 litres. It helps reduce the growth of algae, bacteria and other microorganisms that cause cloudy water and a greenish tint. Its 24 W UV-C lamp has a total power consumption of 26 W, and the recommended flow rate of 4500 l/h allows effective water treatment without the use of chemicals, keeping fish, plants and the wider pond ecosystem safe. Universal fittings suit hoses with 3/4", 1", 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" diameters, making it easy to connect to common filter systems.

As water flows through the chamber, the UV-C radiation destroys free-floating algae, bacteria and mould spores. Dead algae clump into larger particles that a mechanical or biological filter can capture easily. A spiral flow element inside the unit guides the water around the UV-C tube, extending exposure time and improving efficiency compared with standard designs. Pairing the lamp with a biological filter gives the best results by removing residual particles after treatment.

The housing is made from durable ASA and ABS plastics and carries an IP44 rating, suitable for outdoor use. The manufacturer recommends mounting the lamp at least 2 metres from the pond edge in line with VDE safety guidelines. The UV-C lamp has a service life of around 8,000 hours, though replacing it at the start of each season is advised to maintain peak performance. For koi ponds, the model is recommended for capacities of around 8,000 litres.
