Product description
He lived in the XIX. At the turn of the 19th century, a brilliant Hungarian sculptor, our grandfather, Alajos Strobl. And he lived through the XX. century, an excellent engineer, our father, Mihály Stróbl. They were both characterized by tremendous hard work and endless diligence. One of them was a flourisher of Hungarian sculpture, and the other was a nurse in memory of his father. He wrote nearly three hundred pages of family history using the results of his research, his experiences, his family records and the contemporary photographs of our grandmother, Alajosné Strobl. An art historian could not draw such a loving portrait of the great artist as a boy about his father. The reader is holding a highly compressed, edited version, which is not a series of art analyzes, but an excellent age and character drawing. We can learn that the greats of our country were not only talented, but also very diligent, and served with their entire oeuvre. We, too, must bear in mind that we will always have talents who consider culture, art, man to be the primary ones, to whom their offspring can be proud, as we are to our grandfather and father. That is why we hand over this fragment of our father’s decades of work. Welcome. (Veronika Stróbl, Alajos, Mátyás, Krisztina and Zsófia)
