The brilliant and self-righteous Lisbeth Salander is mortally wounded. He is still being cared for in the hospital, when a narrow circle that does not back down starts to organize itself. The stakes are huge for them: as employees of the Swedish secret service, they have demonstrably committed serious illegalities. They are capable of everything to eliminate Salander once and for all and render harmless his ally, the star journalist Mikael Blomkvist, who wants to expose their dealings in a well-documented fact-finding report. Policemen, secret agents, journalists, public officials become allies or mortal enemies in the struggle that threatens the entire political elite with a huge scandal.
I read the Millennium trilogy with the same childish excitement and joy as I had ever read the works of Dumas or Dickens. It secretly fills me with hope that perhaps all is not lost in our imperfect world. Lisbeth Salander, welcome among the immortal heroes of novels! Mario Vargas Llosa - El Pais
