STARTECH PS4C3IA3-USB-C-CARD 5-Port USB PCIe Card

This PCI Express expansion card adds four external USB Type-C ports and one internal Type-A port to a desktop computer or server, each running at up to 10 Gbps. It connects through a single PCI Express x4 slot, making it a practical way to expand or refresh a system's USB connectivity.

The ASM3142 controller supports USB 3.2 transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps. This suits moving large files and editing high-resolution photos and video stored on external drives.

When the motherboard cannot supply enough power, the card can draw additional power through a SATA power connector, providing up to 5 V/3 A (15 W) per USB Type-C port and 5 V/1.5 A (7.5 W) on the Type-A port, so connected devices can charge and sync. Drivers are typically installed automatically on Windows 8 and later, macOS and Linux. The card works with Intel, AMD and Apple Silicon platforms and includes a low-profile bracket for small form factor systems.
