This PCIe card adds two 10 Gbps USB Type-C ports to a computer with a free PCI Express slot, bringing USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds to an existing system. It is built around the ASMedia ASM3142 chipset and is suited to fast external drives and other USB 3.2 Gen 2 peripherals.
The card is backward compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) and USB 2.0 (480 Mbps) devices. Newer USB-C devices connect directly, while existing USB-A peripherals can be used with inexpensive USB-C cables or adapters.
The card supports Windows, Linux and macOS. It includes both standard and low-profile brackets, so it fits a range of PC cases and servers.
