The StarTech.com 0231A0A6-ST is a fiber optic SFP+ transceiver module compatible with the HP 0231A0A6. It is designed, programmed and tested specifically for HP switches and routers, providing a reliable 10 Gigabit Ethernet connection over fiber optic cable in networks that follow the 10GBase-SR standard.
The module uses multimode optical fiber with an LC connector and operates at a maximum data rate of 10 Gbps at a wavelength of 850 nm. The maximum transmission distance is 300 meters (984 feet).
It also supports digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM), allowing network operators to keep track of the link's condition in real time.
