Product description
SMLIGHT SMHUB Nano MG24 is a compact Linux-based smart home hub that provides stable, cloud-independent control with locally running applications (such as Zigbee2MQTT, Matterbridge, Mosquitto MQTT, Node-RED, WireGuard, Tailscale). With the built-in EFR32MG24 radio, it manages Zigbee 3.0 and Thread networks, while the hub can transmit Zigbee devices directly to Google Home or Apple Home (Zigbee2MQTT + Matterbridge) without a separate manufacturer's bridge.
SMHUB Nano fits flexibly into existing ecosystems: it can be used as a stand-alone center, as a Matter bridge, or as a remote radio coordinator alongside Home Assistant, openHAB, HomeSeer and other systems. Wi-Fi 6 (2.4/5 GHz), Ethernet (10/100) and USB-C connection provide easy installation and reliable network availability, and the external Zigbee antenna provides a longer range.
The device is designed for those who want to decouple their Zigbee/Thread software (such as Zigbee2MQTT) from the home server for better stability and run everything in a small, quiet, expandable hub.
Main product features
- Linux-based, local run: Zigbee2MQTT, Matterbridge, Mosquitto MQTT, Node-RED and WireGuard directly on the hub.
- Zigbee + Thread in one: EFR32MG24 radio for Zigbee 3.0 and Thread networks, for integrating Matter devices.
- Matter bridge: transmission of Zigbee devices to Google Home or Apple Home without a separate manufacturer's bridge.
- Flexible operating modes: independent center, Matter bridge, or remote radio coordinator (HA/openHAB/HomeSeer).
- Modern connection: Wi-Fi 6 (2.4/5 GHz), Ethernet 10/100, USB-C, eMMC and microSD expansion.
- Long range: external approx. 5dB Zigbee antenna for better signal quality and coverage.
- Quiet, passive cooling: fanless design, compact housing, can be mounted on a wall or table.
Smart home protocols and platform compatibility
- Supported protocols: Zigbee 3.0, Thread, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5 (BLE).
- Platforms: Home Assistant (ZHA, Zigbee2MQTT, OpenThread), openHAB, HomeSeer, and Matter-enabled ecosystems (Apple Home, Google Home) through Matterbridge.
- Local control: all main components can be run locally without the cloud, with VPN support (WireGuard, Tailscale).
- Zigbee → Matter bridge: Zigbee devices can be made visible to Google Home and Apple Home without a separate manufacturer's bridge.
Smart functions
- Independent hub interface: device pairing and automation with apps running directly on the hub.
- Integrated services: Zigbee2MQTT, Mosquitto, Node-RED, Matterbridge, WireGuard pre-installed.
- Simple migration: Migrate Zigbee and Thread network to the hub for more stable operation.
- Advanced network: Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet, optional UPS module (under development) for power failure protection.
